MARCOS touts a new bridge in Cagayan.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inaugurated the Camalaniugan-Aparri Bridge in Cagayan on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Marcos was joined by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, Gov. Edgar
Aglipay, Vice Gov. Manuel Mamba, Aparri Mayor Dominador Dayag, and Camalaniugan Mayor Isidro Cabaddu.
The event started with a blessing of the bridge, followed by the unveiling of its official markings.
Marcos stressed the bridge’s role in easing daily travel and boosting trade in northern Cagayan.
He said the new structure provides a faster and more direct route between Camalaniugan and Aparri that will benefit residents, motorists, and businesses.
The President acknowledged the effort of the DPWH for completing the project despite challenges.
The bridge costs over P2 billion, spans 2.16 kilometers, and has a 45-ton maximum load capacity.
