BACOLOD CITY – A 30-year-old laborer was gunned down by seven unidentified armed men in Sitio Mansiguibo, Barangay San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Jan.7.
Police Capt. Rene Boy Eduardo, deputy chief of the Toboso Municipal Police Station, said the victim was at home when the suspects, whose faces were covered with bonnets, arrived and brought him a few meters away from his house where he was shot several times.
The gunmen fled toward the upland part of Barangay Bandila, Toboso.
The victim was declared dead in a hospital from multiple bullet wounds.
His brother reported the incident to the police.
He said his sibling has no police record and threats.
Two days earlier, on Jan. 5, a 44-year-old laborer was killed in Barangay Manghanoy, La Castellana, Negros Occidental.
Police are investigating both incidents.
