Man arrested for raping acquaintance's niece in Pasig
A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his acquaintance’s niece in Pasig City, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The EPD identified the suspect as “Jayson,” listed as the station’s No. 2 most wanted person. He was arrested on Friday, Jan. 2, in Barangay Pinagbuhatan during a follow-up operation by the Warrant Serving Section (FUWSS) of the Pasig City Police Station, in coordination with EDIT-RIU NCR-EPD and the Taytay Municipal Police Station.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Ana Teresa T. Cornejo-Tomacruz, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 157, Pasig City, dated Dec. 11, 2025, for rape, with no bail recommended.
Based on their investigation, the incident occurred on July 6, during which the accused allegedly raped the victim, whose age was not disclosed by police.
Prior to the incident, the victim was allegedly invited by her uncle to drink alcoholic beverages, as he claimed he was going through personal problems. Her uncle later stepped out and returned with Jayson, whose relationship to her uncle was not disclosed.
Authorities said the drinking continued, during which the victim’s uncle allegedly made romantic advances toward Jayson, causing tension between them. Meanwhile, the victim continued drinking until she became weak and lost consciousness.
Authorities said the victim later regained consciousness and allegedly found Jayson sexually assaulting her, with her uncle reportedly standing by without intervening.
The incident was reported to authorities, prompting a thorough investigation that led to the issuance of a warrant and the eventual arrest of the suspect.
Jayson is now under the custody of the Pasig City Police Station Custodial Facility.
Meanwhile, EPD District Director Brig. Gen. Aden T. Lagradante commended the operating units for their relentless pursuit of justice and reiterated that crimes involving sexual violence will never be tolerated.
“This arrest sends a clear and resounding message that no offender can hide from the law. The Pasig City Police Station, together with the Eastern Police District, remains steadfast in its duty to protect the community and ensure that perpetrators of heinous crimes are made to answer for their acts,” he said.
The EPD also urged the public to remain vigilant and to cooperate with law enforcement in helping build a safer, more secure, and violence-free community.
