Gwyn Dorado places second on Korean TV show 'Sing Again 4'
Filipino singer and contestant Gwyn Dorado placed second during the finale of the Korean TV singing competition “Sing Again 4.”
Dorado competed with three Korean singers during the final episode of “Sing Again 4” on Jan. 6, which aired on Korean channel JTBC.
The four finalists were Dorado, Lee O-wook, Kim Jae-min and Slowly.
The results showed Lee O-wook winning first place with a total score of 3,051.06. He won 300 million won (about $207,367 or P12.26 million) in cash prize.
Dorado placed second with a final score of 3,009.39. Kim Jae-min placed third with 2,402.14 while Slowly placed fourth with 1,537.42.
During the finale, Dorado performed “Light Up,” a hip-hop/R&B song produced by GroovyRoom, and a cover song.
For her first performance, Dorado secured first place, getting a total score of 781 from the judges.
For “Light Up,”, she got seven perfect scores of 100 and one 99 from the judges for a score of 799.
Adding the two scores, Dorado got 1,580 to rank first in the judges’ scores. She was followed by Slowly with 1,546; Kim Jae-min with 1,531; and Lee O-wook with 1,527.
But when the other scores were added, Lee O-wook became the final winner..
“Sing Again 4” is a music audition TV show that gives singers a second chance to sing again on stage.
The show premiered on Oct. 14 last year with 81 contestants.
Throughout the competition, Dorado wowed the judges with her powerful voice, hitting high notes with ease.
The judges for season 4 were Lim Jae-beom, Yoon Jong-shin, Baek Ji-young, Kim Eana, Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation, Lee Hae-ri, Code Kunst and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun.
