Acrocity bags 15th XABL crown

The Acrocity/MEC team completed its championship run in the Xavier Alumni Basketball League (XABL) as it bagged its 15th title recently at the Xavier School Sports Center in Greenhills, San Juan.
The XABL is one of the country’s longest-running alumni leagues. Xavier has produced some of the biggest names in men’s professional basketball.
Acrocity beat six other teams to enter the finals, ending the tournament with a win over Uratex, 91-85. Acrocity had an immaculate 7-0 win-loss record throughout the season.
Season MVP Gab Banal finished with 31 points on top of 17 rebounds and eight assists while Finals MVP Charles Tiu was not far behind with 22 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, hitting a crucial three-pointer and putback to seal the win.
Former PBA stalwart Joseph Yeo contributed 14 points.
Team owners Caesar Wongchuking and Merrick Chua of MEC Networks Corp., as well as team manager Joseph Ngo and coaching staff Jay Llanos Dee noted that with relentless defense, unselfish teamwork, and clutch performances when it mattered most, Acrocity rose above fierce competition to secure its 15th crown.
Wongchuking chairs the Czark Mak Group of Companies that developed Bulacan’s newest commercial, industrial, and lifestyle township Acrocity.
Just last September, Acrocity opened the Mighty Sports Center, the newest hub for pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and badminton enthusiasts in Guiguinto, Bulacan. Acrocity is also home to business and family hotel Acro Residences and fast-rising names in the gastronomic world – Mt. Fuji Japanese Restaurant and Mighty King Chinese Restaurant. Mt. Fuji is set to open its third branch, the Paddock by Mt. Fuji inside The Auto Complex in Libis, Quezon City.
“This milestone victory is a testament to years of hard work, consistent excellence, and a winning culture built by players, coaches and supporters who never settle for less. Each championship run has strengthened the legacy, but this 15th crown stands as a powerful symbol of longevity and sustained greatness,” team manager Ngo said.
The Wongchuking group is also a proud supporter of the Gilas Pilipinas women’s basketball team that bagged the gold in the recent Southeast Asian games in Thailand.
