5,594 examinees passed 2025 online Bar exams; 20 topnotchers named
A total of 5,594 or 48.98 percent of the 11,425 examinees passed the 2025 online Bar examinations administered by the Supreme Court (SC) last September.
SC Bar Committee Chairperson Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier said the oathtaking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys will be held on Feb. 6 at the Philippine Arena.
Lazaro-Javier said the SC approved the passing rate of 75 per cent during its special full court session on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez of the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City topped the examinations with a grade P92.70 percent.
The other topnotchers (from 2nd to 10th slot) are Spinel Albert Allauigan Declaro, University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila, 92.46 percent; Alaiza Agatep Adviento, UST, 91.91 percent; Angelica De Castro Mitra, De La Salle-Lipa, 91.68 percent; Marc Angelo Galvez Santos, UST, 91.58 percent; Jeowy Loyloy Ompad, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu, and Enrico Gabriel Reyes, Ateneo de Manila University, both with 91.25 percent; Johan Raphael Silapan Gata, UST-Manila, 90.90 percent; Marie Shantelle Atienza Sarmiento, UP, 90.87 percent; Richmond Bulan Lucas, University of La Salette, Inc., 90.45 percent; and Jasmine Teriann Afable Yap, UP, 90.36 percent.
The other topnotchers (from 11th to 20th slot) are Allen Leo Tabuco Paran, Arellano University, 90.20 percent; Patric Kiel Quiroz Navarro, University of the East, 89.93 percent; Alfrancis Bagadiong Cabungcal, UP, 89.80 percent; Gerilin Ono-Os Gascon, Bukidnon State University, 89.71 percent; Ignacio Lorenzo Dela Cruz Villareal, UP, 89.70 percent; Mae Angela Damaso Locsin, UST Legazpi (Aquinas), 89.42 percent; Randal Lipnica Pabilane, Arellano University, 89.41 percent; Mikaella Franchesca Nuarin Abisana, Ateneo de Manila University, 89.38 percent; Chinzen Tañada Viernes, UP, 89.35 percent; and Ronaldo Vincent Ofrecio Gonzales, University of the East, 89.31 percent.
The top performing law schools with more than 100 examinees were the Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, and San Beda College-Alabang.
Top performers for those with 51 to 100 examinees were Ateneo de Davao University, De La Salle University-Manila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and University of San Jose-Recoletos.
For those with 11 to 50 examinees, the top performers were University of Makati, Bulacan State University, San Beda University, Palawan State University School of Law, West Visayas State University, Saint Louis University, and Father Saturnino Urios University.
In 2024, a total of 3,962 out or 37.84 percent of the 10,480 examinees passed the online Bar exams.
Also in 2024, the SC lowered the passing rate from 75 to 74 percent.
