Woman found lifeless under bridge in Camarines Norte identified

Police have identified the woman whose body was found stuffed in a box under the Pinagwarasan Bridge in Purok 1, Barangay Pinagwarasan, Basud, Camarines Norte before dawn on Friday, Jan. 2.
The victim was identified on Monday, Jan. 5, as Anelis Abamonga, 38, of Barangay Bura, Catarman, Camiguin.

Basud Municipal Police Station chief Police Capt. Mark Armea said the victim was positively identified by her friend after seeing news about her on social media. The victim’s identity was also confirmed by her cousin.
Residents found the victim inside a black plastic storage box floating under the bridge allegedly thrown by a man.
The suspect – about 30- to 40-years-old, 5’4” to 5’6”, and medium built – was positively identified by a witness.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation and pursuit operation.
