Hybrids and EVs power BMW Philippines' strongest sales year to date

BMW Philippines has already exceeded its full-year 2024 sales total by November 2025, according to figures released by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of the brand in the country.
The company confirmed that year-to-date deliveries through November 2025 reached 843 units, surpassing the 815 units recorded across the entire 2024 calendar year. The milestone was achieved ahead of December, effectively closing what has become the brand’s strongest sales year in the Philippine market to date.
Momentum has accelerated in recent months, with close to 300 vehicles delivered over the past three months alone. This late-year performance reflects sustained demand across BMW’s core model range, alongside continued interest in electrified variants within the premium segment.
“To secure this record early in December is a phenomenal achievement for our team, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the unwavering support and trust of our customers,” said Jacob Ang, President of SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. “The immediate sell-out of models like the X3 PHEV confirms that our Power of Choice strategy—offering the best of both worlds in performance and efficiency—is perfectly aligned with the market.”
The distributor noted that this result was achieved despite softer conditions across the broader local premium automotive market, which has seen signs of contraction and cautious consumer demand throughout the year. Against this backdrop, BMW’s year-on-year growth highlights its ability to maintain relevance and momentum in a competitive segment.
Strong customer demand has resulted in full allocations for several key models. The BMW 3 Series, BMW X1, and BMW X3 PHEV were sold out or fully allocated for the remainder of the year, while the BMW X5 PHEV was available only in limited quantities. According to the company, these conditions have led to tighter inventory levels than initially anticipated.
Electrified vehicles have played a significant role in the brand’s recent sales performance. Plug-in hybrid models, in particular, have seen rapid uptake, supported by expanded model availability and growing consumer familiarity with electrified driving. SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. attributes this to BMW’s multi-powertrain approach, which offers customers a range of options as they transition toward electrification.
Looking ahead, the distributor expressed confidence heading into 2026, citing a balanced product strategy that continues to include internal combustion, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicles for the Philippine market.
