6 gunmen shoot laborer dead

BACOLOD CITY – Gunmen fatally shot a 44-year-old laborer in Sitio Old Manghanoy, Barangay Manghanoy, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Monday, Jan. 5.
Police Major Romulo Gepilango, La Castellana police chief, identified the victim as Rehny.
Investigation showed the victim, who had an attempted homicide case, and his cousin went to their fishpond when six individuals appeared from a nearby sugarcane plantation. The gunmen approached and fired at the victim.
The suspects allegedly shouted, “Dugay ka na namon ginpangita” (We have been looking for you), before fleeing.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead from multiple bullet wounds.
Gepilango said the victim was an alleged gunrunner and drug pusher.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
