Rider dies in SUV-motorcycle collision in Rizal

A 34-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a road crash along Manila East Road in Barangay Lagundi, Morong, Rizal, on Sunday, Jan. 4, the Morong Municipal Police said.
According to the police, the victim was on board his motorcycle and cruising towards Morong from Baras when he accidentally fell asleep, causing his vehicle to counterflow and crash into an oncoming Toyota Fortuner SUV from the opposite direction.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV and his passengers were unharmed in the crash.
He is currently facing multiple charges, including reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, serious physical injuries, and damage to property.
