The city government of Parañaque reported that a total of 13 cubic meters of mixed waste were collected at Bulungan, a seafood market in Barangay La Huerta, following the holiday season.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), led by Bernie Amurao, conducted a massive clean-up drive at the seafood market as part of the city’s continuing efforts to promote cleanliness, orderliness, and environmental protection.
Olivarez noted CENRO street sweepers and task force personnel carried out mopping, clearing, declogging, and flushing operations to improve sanitation and ensure a cleaner, more orderly environment for vendors, customers, and nearby residents.
During the operation, the mayor confirmed that the 13 cubic meters of mixed waste collected were properly disposed of.
He added that the initiative of CENRO significantly contributed to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment, especially in busy public areas such as Bulungan.
The city government reminded the public to avoid dumping garbage on streets, esteros, and other public places, stressing that proper waste segregation and responsible disposal are essential to preserving the environment and preventing flooding and health hazards.
CENRO also encouraged residents, vendors, and stakeholders to actively participate in and support the city’s cleanliness and environmental programs.
