Farmer stabs brother to death in Ilocos Sur

GREGORIO DEL PILAR, Ilocos Sur – A farmer allegedly stabbed his brother to death during a Christmas Day altercation in Barangay Alfonso here, police said Monday.
Police Capt. Floro DR Cosning Jr., acting chief of the Gregorio del Pilar Municipal Police Station, identified the victim as Rudy, 29.
Cosning said a misunderstanding erupted between the victim and the suspect Mar, 26, during a drinking session in their house.
The suspect got a 10-inch long kitchen knife and stabbed his brother.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The suspect was arrested and the murder weapon was recovered in their house and in the custody of police.
The victim’s family said they will file homicide charges against the suspect.
