The Ford Territory Hybrid has crossed the 1,000-customer mark in the Philippine market just over three months after its launch, signaling early traction for Ford Philippines’ first hybrid offering.
From its market introduction in August through the end of November, Ford Philippines recorded total sales of 1,099 units of the Territory Hybrid. The bulk of these sales came from the Titanium X variant, which accounted for more than three-quarters of all units sold during the period. Ford Philippines cited pricing as a key factor in purchase decisions, particularly for customers choosing the top-spec model.
“To have sold more than 1,000 Territory Hybrid units in over three months reflects the strong demand from customers looking to have a hybrid vehicle and the continued popularity of the Territory nameplate in the market,” said Pedro Simoes, managing director of Ford Philippines. “The Territory continues to be a key vehicle in Ford’s electrification strategy in the Philippines, and the solid performance of the Territory Hybrid shows that customers are ready for a vehicle that combines efficiency, refinement, and a dynamic driving experience.”
The Philippines was the first market under Ford’s International Markets Group to introduce the Territory Hybrid. In response to growing interest, Ford Philippines confirmed that additional units are arriving to help improve availability across its dealer network and support increasing customer demand.
To give existing customers and enthusiasts hands-on exposure to the hybrid model, Ford Philippines recently held a weekend test drive activity with various Ford car clubs. Participants were able to drive the Territory Hybrid and assess its performance, features, and overall driving character in real-world conditions.
Feedback from the activity pointed to a generally positive reception, with drivers noting a smooth and responsive feel as well as features that were easy to adapt to. According to Ford Philippines, this initial owner and enthusiast feedback aligns with the vehicle’s early sales performance and reflects how the hybrid system integrates into everyday driving.
Under the hood, the Territory Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four dedicated hybrid engine paired with a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and a 1.83kWh lithium-ion NCM high-voltage battery. Combined system output figures include a maximum engine power of 150PS and 230Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers up to 218PS and 315Nm of torque.
The hybrid system operates across EV, series, parallel, and energy recovery modes, allowing the vehicle to switch between electric and gasoline power depending on driving conditions. This setup is intended to improve fuel efficiency and provide smoother torque delivery, particularly in stop-and-go urban traffic. Electric assistance also contributes to improved responsiveness during acceleration.
Drivers can choose between Eco, Normal, and Sport driving modes to adjust throttle response and overall vehicle behavior. The Territory Hybrid also offers selectable steering modes that include Comfort, Normal, and Sport, which can either follow the selected drive mode or be manually adjusted through the vehicle’s interface.
Ford positions the Territory Hybrid as a vehicle that integrates electrification without requiring major changes to daily driving habits. Its hybrid system is designed to operate quietly, transition smoothly between power sources, and deliver reduced emissions compared to conventional gasoline-only vehicles.
With more units arriving and continued interest from buyers, Ford Philippines sees the early performance of the Territory Hybrid as an encouraging indicator of how local customers are responding to hybrid technology within the compact SUV segment.
