Man dies in motorcycle-elf truck collision in Rizal

A 33-year-old motorcycle rider died in a collision with an elf truck along Marcos Highway in Antipolo City, Rizal on Friday, Jan. 2.
The Antipolo City Component Police Station (Antipolo CCPS) said the incident occurred at around 3:50 p.m. in Barangay San Luis.
Based on the investigation, the victim was travelling on Marcos Highway from Sitio Puting Bato heading toward Masinag, while the Isuzu Elf truck was in the process of crossing the highway.
Upon reaching the site of the incident, authorities said both vehicles accidentally collided. Due to the impact, both vehicles sustained damage in still undetermined amounts.
Authorities said the victim sustained physical injuries and was rushed to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City for treatment, but was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, pertinent documents are being prepared to file appropriate charges against the driver of the Elf truck, who is currently under police custody.
