Businessman accidentally shoots self in genitals

CALATAGAN, Batangas – A 54-year-old businessman was wounded after a gun tucked in his waist suddenly went off and hit his genitals during a drinking spree on Saturday night, Jan. 3, in Sitio Lipatan, Barangay Lucsuhin, here.

Police identified the victim as Emil, married.

Investigation said the victim was having a drinking spree in his house when he tucked a converted improvised hand gun, a caliber .22, in his waist.

It accidentally went off and his genitals. The victim was taken to a hospital.

The gun was not recovered as it was allegedly thrown by the victim in a river.

Laborer drowns

BURDEOS, Quezon – A laborer drowned while assisting a boatman at Sabang Port here on Saturday night, Jan. 3.

Police identified the victim as Mike.

Investigation said the victim was assisting the boatman in raising the boat at the port when he suddenly fell overboard because of strong current.

The victim went missing and authorities conducted a search and retrieval operation and recovered the

body of the victim at about 11 p.m. near the port.
