QC logs two firecracker incidents, no stray bullet cases during New Year celebration
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported only two firecracker-related cases on New Year’s Eve and no stray bullet injuries.
According to the report, a total of 67 firecracker-related injuries were logged from Dec. 16, 2025 until 8:00 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2026.
Most of the cases were classified as minor, while five individuals remained under medical assessment.
Police also confirmed that no incidents involving stray bullets or indiscriminate firing were recorded throughout the New Year festivities.
The QCPD said the limited number of incidents was due to the strategic deployment of police personnel, supported by other government agencies and force multipliers.
Security presence was heightened along major roads and in high-traffic areas, including transport terminals, markets, malls, business establishments, and churches.
The coordinated security measures helped maintain order and ensured uninterrupted New Year activities across the city.
