According to the hospital officials, most of the cases were mild, while only a few were classified as severe.
However, no deaths were reported.
Medical personnel in Manila’s district hospitals had little rest as patients continued to arrive during the New Year celebrations.
Ospital ng Tondo recorded the highest number of cases, with 40 patients.
Two of them are scheduled to undergo surgery, including one who sustained burns to the face.
Meanwhile, Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center treated seven patients.
Among the injured was a 12-year-old child and a woman who suffered burns in their eyelids.
Another patient sustained arm injuries after being struck by a rocket firecracker.
Hospital officials said most of those injured were not the ones who lit the fireworks, but were bystanders who were watching or celebrating when the incidents occurred.
