Bam Aquino gets backing of Sulu governor; Piolo Pascual, Iza Calzado among his latest celeb endorsers

More endorsements—from the political arena to the entertainment industry—are coming senatorial candidate Bam Aquino’s way.

With a week before Election Day, actor Piolo Pascual went onboard the former senator’s motorcade in Metro Manila on Sunday, May 4, while Sulu Governor Abdusakur Tan endorsed the former senator during his visit to the province on Monday, May 5.

Actresses and TV hosts Iza Calzado and Melai Cantiveros also added their voice to the growing artists’ support for Aquino.

During his visit to Sulu, the former senator thanked Tan for his endorsement, noting its significance to his campaign with Election Day a few days away.

In a short speech during his visit to Jolo, Sulu, Aquino underscored the importance of education to achieve lasting peace and progress in Mindanao.

“Isang mahalagang aspeto ng kapayapaan ay edukasyon. Nakasalalay sa de-kalidad na edukasyon ang magandang kinabukasan ng ating kabataan at pag-unlad ng bansa (An important aspect of peace is education. The future of our children and the progress of the country rely on quality education),” he explained, adding that it would also open opportunities for guaranteed employment for the youth.

Meanwhile, Pascual and Calzado both went on the motorcade for Aquino on Sunday.

The actor was seen in Mandaluyong City and in Cubao, Quezon City.

Calzado, likewise, joined the motorcade in the cities of Mandaluyong, Quezon, and Valenzuela.

Other celebrities and influencers who have endorsed Aquino and were in the motorcade are longtime supporter Bea Binene, Kerwin King, Zion Aguirre, Gabe Pineda, Niño San Jose, Andrea Guevarra, Andrei Hermida, and Damien Villaflor.
