These were brought to city hall by a freight forwarding company van with the seal unlocked in front of government personnel, media, and other onlookers.
The ballots were unloaded together with ballots for municipalities of Zamboanga del Norte which were transferred to another van.
City Treasurer Romelita Candido said the ballots will initially be inventoried and serial numbers checked to see if the documents transported are complete.
The ballots will be kept inside a vault with police personnel guarding them until their scheduled transfer to teachers at the Joaquin Enriquez Memorial Grandstand.
Comelec Election Officer Jan Christian Babiera said that with the turnover, the ballots have become the responsibility of the City Treasurer's Office.
Candido said that they will meet with the Comelec to discuss the distribution for the ballots.
