Rising star Jay R Colonia turned heads after winning two gold medals in the ongoing 2025 IWF World Youth & Junior Championships in Lima, Peru Wednesday, April 30.

The 16-year-old Colonia flexed his might and won the gold in total lift (215 kilograms) and clean and jerk (121kgs) in the men’s 49kg division.

Italian Christian Di Maria finished second in total (214kgs) while Indian Sahu Harshabardhan (197kgs) captured bronze.

In snatch, Colonia copped silver (94kgs) after falling behind Di Maria (99kgs).

Althea Bacaro, on the other hand, snared three medals in the women's 40kg division, a gold in snatch (58kgs), bronze in clean and jerk (72kgs), and silver in total (130kgs).
