Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr., director of the Department of Labor and Employment-6, led the opening of the job fair in a popular mall in Iloilo City.
Rodriguez said 8,337 vacancies were offered by 106 employers. Five companies had 966 vacancies for overseas employment.
DOLE-6 also conducted simultaneous job fairs in the provinces of Iloilo, Capiz, and Negros Occidental upon the directive of Labor and Employment Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma.
These job fairs were organized by the Public Employment Service Offices of local government units (LGUs) of Oton and Tubungan in Iloilo province; the Capiz provincial government in Roxas City; and the LGUs of Bacolod City and Sipalay City in Negros Occidental province.
Rodriguez reiterated DOLE’s commitment to advancing workers’ welfare through programs that promote decent, productive, and inclusive employment.
DOLE-6 also distributed financial assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). Rodriguez distributed checks for 1,442 beneficiaries across the region totaling more than P36 million.
