Labor Day 2025 weather: ITCZ, easterlies to bring rain to parts of the Philippines
Parts of the country to experience scattered rain and thunderstorms, according to PAGASA
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is currently affecting Palawan and Mindanao, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to these areas, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, May 1.

Meanwhile, easterlies—or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean—are affecting Eastern Samar, Metro Manila, and the rest of the country.
These areas can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening, PAGASA said.
Weather forecast by region
PAGASA said that cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in Palawan and Mindanao due to the ITCZ.
Residents are advised to be on alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
In Eastern Samar, PAGASA also forecasts cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Moderate to occasionally heavy rains may lead to flash floods or landslides, particularly in flood-prone or mountainous areas, PAGASA added.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are also expected in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies.
Isolated thunderstorms could bring sudden heavy downpours, increasing the risk of localized flooding or landslides, according to PAGASA.
Public warning
PAGASA urged the public to remain vigilant and monitor official updates, especially in areas susceptible to flooding and landslides.
Local disaster response teams are on standby, and residents are advised to take necessary precautions.
