DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan – Police recovered 49 cellular phones from four suspected thieves while on board a provincial bus bound to Pasay City on Labor Day.

The suspects were three siblings and one male, all residents of Commonwealth, Quezon City.
A college student reported to the police here that her cellphone, a Techno Spark 20, was stolen during the Bangus Festival street party.
The location of the cellphone was traced near the Five Star Terminal on Perez Boulevard, Dagupan City, and later moved to Barangay Caranglaan through the Google Find My Device application.
A search operation was immediately launched.
Police intercepted a provincial bus with the suspects on board in a transport terminal in Barangay Carmen, Rosales, Pangasinan.
Four persons were caught in possession of more than 40 cellphones and were promptly arrested.
Dagupan City chief of police Police Lt. Col. Brendon Palisoc credited coordination among police units and technology for the arrest of the suspects.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects' illegal activities and filing of appropriate charges in court.
