The rich flavors of Bulakenyo cuisine stole the spotlight at the “Malinamnam at Katakam-takam na Kaluto ng Bulacan: Filipino Food Month Celebration 2025” which commenced Tuesday, and continues on Wednesday, April, 29 and 30, at the Bulacan Capitol Mini Forest Park, in the City of Malolos.
The event was graced by the presence of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office (PHACTO) officer-in-charge May Arlene Torres alongside the esteemed Regional Director Richard Daenos of the Department of Tourism - Region 3.
Together, they aimed to deepen appreciation for Bulacan’s culinary heritage and to show unwavering support for local products and businesses.
A highlight of this year's festivities was the “Pamatid-Uhaw: Bulacan Beverage Competition 2025,” where the talented students from Bulacan Polytechnic College clinched the top spot.
Other participants from Hotel & Restaurant Management (HRM) courses, such as Centro Escolar University, National University-Baliwag, and STI College-Balagtas, also showcased their skills and creativity.
Attendees were treated to a Puni Making Workshop led by Marichelle Bernardo from the City Tourism Office of Malolos, as well as cooking demonstrations by culinary experts like Ferdinand Talbenito, Jr., Michael Saavedra, and Renato Gerona from the City of San Jose Del Monte.

In addition to the culinary delights, visitors had the opportunity to explore and purchase a diverse array of food and goods from various exhibitors, including the Bulacan Farm Tourism Association's fresh veggies, fruits, rice, grains, nuts, honey, eggs, milk, rabbit meat and more from farm to table.
The month of April has been officially declared as Filipino Food Month or Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino through Proclamation No. 469, s. 2018.
This is a national celebration led by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Department of Agriculture (DA), in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement (PCHM).
