PRO-10 focused on key convergence areas, including public rallies and gatherings, as part of their maximum personnel deployment strategy to maintain peace and order in Northern Mindanao, Police Regional Office 10-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann G. Navarro said.
“All available police assets, including Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) units, traffic enforcement teams, mobile patrols, and quick response forces are also mobilized for different activities in this celebration,” she said.
PRO-10 assured the public that maximum tolerance will be implemented to achieve a peaceful Labor Day celebration, Navarro said.
PRO-10 is working closely with local government units (LGUs), other law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations for a collaborative approach to maintaining order.
“Coordination with these groups ensures that security efforts are aligned, and that the rights of demonstrators to express their views are respected while preventing any form of violence or disorder,” Navarro added.
PRO-10 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman emphasized the importance of maximum deployment for Labor Day.
“As part of our commitment to public safety, we are taking proactive steps to ensure peace and order during the Labor Day,” he said. “PRO-10 is determined to strike a balance between ensuring public safety and protecting the democratic rights of individuals, and we will be vigilant in maintaining law and order, while being respectful of people's right to peaceful protest.”
