A newcomer to the Philippine market, Aito is set to make its impact felt at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2025 with the introduction of its flagship electric SUV, the M9. This full-size luxury vehicle, developed in collaboration with Huawei and Seres, combines advanced technology with elegant design, offering a glimpse into the future of electric mobility.
There are two versions of the Aito M9. The extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variant of the M9 is driven by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing a combined 496-PS. The front motor delivers 224-PS and 315-Nm of torque, while the rear motor produces 270-PS and 360-Nm of torque. A 1.5-liter turbocharged port-injected petrol engine rated at 224-PS functions solely as a generator. Customers can choose between two CATL-sourced NMC battery options: 42-kWh, offering 225-km of pure electric range, and 52-kWh, rated for 275-km. Overall driving range is 1,362-km for the 42-kWh variant and 1,402 km for the 52-kWh variant. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 4.9 seconds.
For the 2025 model year, the 42-kWh battery option has been discontinued. The updated EREV variant features a revised 1.5-liter engine now producing 160-PS. The 52-kWh battery offers a revised all-electric range of 266–290 km, while the total driving range increases to 1,417–1,474 km, depending on configuration.
The battery electric version (BEV) of the M9 adopts an 800-volt electrical architecture and is powered by two electric motors delivering a total output of 530-PS. The front motor provides 220-PS and 277-Nm of torque, while the rear motor contributes 310-PS and 396-Nm of torque. Power is drawn from a 100 kWh NMC battery supplied by CATL, enabling a driving range between 615–630 km. The BEV M9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
Inside, the M9 EV boasts a technologically advanced cabin featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a 16-inch front passenger display, all powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS intelligent cockpit. An optional retractable 32-inch screen and laser projector enhance the in-car entertainment experience, providing passengers with a cinema-like environment. Safety is also a priority, with the inclusion of Huawei's ADS 2.0 system, which utilizes multiple sensors and cameras to support advanced autonomous driving capabilities.
Full details as to whether we are getting one or both versions of the M9, as well as final pricing, will be fully revealed at MIAS 2025, happening from April 10 to 13 at The World Trade Center.
