Jeepney crashes into store, pedestrians in San Juan City

A public utility jeepney (PUJ) crashed into a store and injured several pedestrians along F. Blumentritt corner N. Domingo Street in San Juan City on Wednesday, April 9.

According to the San Juan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Monitoring Office (CDRRMO) and several witnesses, the incident happened at around 7:50 a.m.

Several pedestrians, as well as a motorcycle rider, were hurt in the accident.

They were immediately given medical attention and are now in stable condition.

Witnesses said the jeepney driver was backing up his vehicle when it suddenly lost its brakes, rear ending the store and the pedestrians.

The driver is now under police custody.
