BYD Cars Philippines, the passenger vehicle division of ACMobility under the Ayala Group, is set to officially launch the all-new BYD eMAX 7 at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). The eMAX 7 is positioned as the country’s first fully electric three-row MPV in its class, and is now open for reservation nationwide.

Built for modern Filipino families seeking eco-conscious transport, the BYD eMAX 7 blends space, innovation, and cost-efficiency into a single electric package. According to BYD Cars Philippines Managing Director Bob Palanca, “This vehicle will be another groundbreaking addition to our lineup and the MPV segment as we bring electrified mobility within reach of more Filipino families.”

The eMAX 7 features BYD's latest design language, "Dragon Face 3.0," a visual identity shared with models like the Tang and Han. The MPVs front fascia integrates slim, crystal floating LED headlights with low/high beam combination lights and a wide grille that signals its all-electric architecture. At the rear, it sports "floating light LED taillights" for a unified and modern appearance.
Inside, the vehicle is designed with practicality and digital convenience in mind. Key features include a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless charging, and BYD Voice Assistant. The smart cockpit offers various access modes including remote key, mechanical key, NFC-enabled card or phone access, and controls through the BYD app.

Powering the eMAX 7 is BYD’s Blade Battery, a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit known for its durability and safety. It passed rigorous tests including nail penetration and 50-ton truck rollover, and is designed with an aluminum honeycomb sandwich structure for enhanced strength. Two battery configurations will be available. The standard variant is equipped with a 55.4 kWh battery that offers a range of 420 kilometers based on the NEDC cycle. Meanwhile, the Superior Captain variant houses a larger 71.8 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 530 kilometers of range. Both variants support CCS2/Type 2 charging ports, with AC charging of up to 7 kW. DC fast charging is rated up to 89 kW for the standard variant and up to 115 kW for the Superior Captain.

A significant highlight of the eMAX 7 is its independent rear multi-link suspension, which distinguishes it from most MPVs that rely on torsion beam setups. This suspension setup, coupled with the low center of gravity afforded by the Blade Battery, contributes to improved ride comfort, minimized chassis vibration, and enhanced handling.

The eMAX 7 incorporates BYD’s Di-Pilot active safety suite. The Superior Captain variant integrates one front camera and three millimeter-wave radars, enabling a range of advanced driver-assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, lane departure assist, emergency lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, rear cross traffic alert and brake, blind spot detection, and rear collision warning. Both variants are equipped with six airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchors. A 360° HD View Monitor with see-through mode enhances parking safety and maneuverability in tight spaces.

The eMAX 7 is positioned to attract buyers from both subcompact and compact MPV segments, particularly targeting young and progressive families. BYD also highlights its cost-efficiency, noting up to 85% estimated savings in maintenance costs compared to internal combustion MPVs. Preventive maintenance is scheduled once a year, which further supports a lower total cost of ownership.

Customers can experience the BYD eMAX 7 firsthand at MIAS 2025, where the model will be on display and where its final pricing will be revealed. It will be available for test drives alongside the rest of BYD's electric vehicle lineup.
