3 men held for illegal gambling, possession of gun and drugs in Pasay City

Police arrested three men for illegal gambling, illegal possession of a firearm and drugs in Pasay City early Wednesday morning, April 9.

Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspects as alias “Joey,” 40; alias “Sandy,” 40; and alias “Joshua,” 22. They were nabbed at around 5:30 a.m. in Daop Palad, Barangay 201, Pasay City.

De Sesto said Pasay City Police Substation 9 operatives were conducting a routine patrol when a concerned citizen informed them about a group of men who were engaged in illegal gambling called "cara y cruz".

Police recovered from the suspects three one-peso coins used as flippers, P500 bet money, 0.28 grams of shabu, and a .38-caliber caliber revolver.

The suspects are now detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility. They were charged for violation of PD 1602 (illegal gambling), Republic Act (RA) 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act), and RA 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002).
