Government anti-narcotics authorities seized P6.8 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a drug suspect during a buy-bust operation in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu province, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) stated.
PDEA Acting Regional Director Alex M. Tablate said that alias ‘Daryl’ of Cebu City was collared on Saturday, May 3, in Sitio Camansi, Barangay Pajo in the said operation.
Aside from the 1,000 grams of shabu concealed in a vacuum-sealed plastic pack, authorities also confiscated one cellular phone, buy-bust money and various non-drug pieces of evidence.
The confiscated shabu was subjected to chemical analysis at the PDEA 7 Regional Office laboratory for proper disposition.
Alias ‘Daryl’ faces charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of illegal drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
The operation was carried out by the PDEA 7 Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET), PNP Drug Enforcement Group/Special Operations Unit 7, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Station 3, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office - City Intelligence Unit/City Drug Enforcement Unit and PNP Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
