Nobody was killed or injured but the fire destroyed 200 brand-new cars parked in the the open space of a logistics company.

These cars were  scheduled for delivery to several dealerships nationwide.

Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas proceeded to the area to learn the extent of the damage from the fire.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire blaze started at around 1 p.m. in the stockyard of a food manufacturing company.

Spent bleaching earth, a flammable and hazardous chemical by-product of edible oil during the refining process, exposed to heat could be the source of the fire, arson investigators said.

The fire  reached the third alarm and was put out at 2:30 p.m.

Damage to property is yet to be determined.
