PRO-11 Director Police Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete confirmed in a statement that a police officer tested positive for shabu during a recent random drug test. However, the police officer was not Dela Rey, he said.
“Major Dela Rey did not test positive for illegal drugs and continues to serve in her role with full integrity and good standing,” Rosete said.
Rosete warned they would take legal action against people spreading fake news and reiterated their commitment to transparency.
He said that they continue to cleanse their ranks through regular drug testing and assured the public that they would continue to protect the reputation of all personnel, especially those wrongfully accused.
“We remain steadfast in restoring public trust and ensuring justice is served fairly and impartially for all members of the police force,” Rosete said.
Rosete said that fake news do not deter their ongoing commitment to clean, efficient, and honest service to the public and they are determined to safeguard the dignity of personnel against malicious attacks.
Meanwhile, the PRO-11 seized illegal drugs worth P3.2 million during 63 operations conducted between March 10 and 16.
Sixty-eight individuals, including nine high-value targets and 59 street-level suspects, were apprehended.
