The Port of Manila (POM) District of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) achieved its highest revenue collection performance in 2024, earning commendation from the Commission on Audit (COA) for nearly hitting its tax target.

According to the COA Audit Observation Memorandum (AOM) dated Feb. 24, 2025, the Port of Manila reached 99.347 percent of its ₱84.813 billion tax collection target from January to December 2024.

The full-year figure was a significant increase from the ₱72.764 billion collected in 2023.

The COA report noted that this high collection would substantially contribute to the government's funds, supporting the Marcos administration's programs.

"We commend the management for its high performance on revenue collection for CY 2024," the report said.

The Port of Manila, under the leadership of Collector Alex Alviar, was further praised by ZTE Philippines, Inc. In a letter to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto dated March 6, 2025.

Jin Zhichao, ZTE Philippines managing director noted the port's speedy customs clearance, which prevented delays in their Caloocan Data Center project.

Zhichao added that the BOC's professionalism and cooperation had significantly impacted their organization.
