The Mitsubishi Triton has been recognized with the Best Design award in the Standard Pick-Up Truck category at the 2024-2025 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards (AFMCA). Organized annually by Sunshine TV since 2008, the AFMCA honors outstanding vehicles as selected by a panel of seasoned motoring journalists and media professionals.
The Triton, which was introduced to the Philippine market a year ago, continues to make a strong impression in the competitive pick-up segment. Known for combining rugged utility with visual appeal, the model has gained a foothold among both city-based users and off-road drivers.
One of the key design features of the Triton is its aggressive front fascia, highlighted by Mitsubishi Motors' signature Dynamic Shield design. The projector headlights and daytime running lights add a modern and assertive look, while the distinct T-shaped taillamps provide clear visibility and a strong rear presence. With a longer body and wider stance, the vehicle is designed to deliver both aesthetic appeal and functional performance.
Certain variants, such as the GLX, GLS, and Athlete, come equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, while the GL models feature 16-inch steel wheels. Additional exterior elements like the sports bar and body cladding contribute to the vehicle’s rugged image.
"We are truly honored to receive the Auto Focus Media’s Choice Award for Best Design in the Pick-up Category. This award will help customers realize how the Mitsubishi Triton is the best-suited pick-up truck for city driving, work and adventure due to its perfect combination of cutting-edge design, functionality, and performance,” said MMPC President & CEO Ritsu Imaeda.
The Triton is also equipped with updated interiors and enhanced safety features, designed to offer a comfortable and secure driving experience. These enhancements reflect Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation's ongoing commitment to providing vehicles that balance form with function.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has been part of the country's automotive industry for decades. With a 23-hectare plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna capable of producing up to 50,000 units annually, MMPC continues to manufacture models like the Mirage, Mirage G4, and L300 locally.
As the Triton garners industry recognition, MMPC aims to further solidify its position in the local market by delivering products that meet the evolving needs of Filipino consumers.
