
A family of four perished in a fire that hit a residential area in Las Piñas City early Monday morning.
Supt. Josephus Alburo, Las Piñas City fire marshal, said the victims -- a couple and their two children aged 17 and three years old -- were trapped when the mezzanine on the second floor of their house at Bernabe Compound, Pulanglupa Uno, collapsed during the blaze.
At least four firetrucks responded to control the fire that began at around 1:30 a.m. and extinguished at 2:37 a.m.
The BFP is looking into faulty electrical wiring or overheating of appliances as the possible cause of the fire that .
