Alex Eala jumped to a career-high No. 73 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings despite being inactive for the past week since her impressive run at the Miami Open.

The 19-year-old teen sensation moved two rungs higher following movements from players who competed at the Charleston Open in the United States and the Copa Colsanitas Zurich in Bogota, Colombia that both ended over the weekend.
Eala was at No. 140 three weeks ago before making huge strides at the Miami Open late last month, where she leapfrogged to No. 75 following a semifinal finish in the said WTA1000 event.
With her latest rankings, Eala targets high-tier WTA tournaments in this clay court season, with high hopes of also earning a main draw spot in the French Open in May.
