The Land Transportation Office (LTO) collected at least P8.3 billion in revenue in the first three months of this year.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the collection is a good indication that their P34 billion collection target for 2025 is on the right track.
Mendoza attributed the high revenue collection to strategic policy implementation, ensuring transaction efficiency and the aggressive implementation of road safety rules and regulations.
He emphasized the need for revenue collection efficiency as this would generate funds that will not only further improve the services of the LTO but also provide more funds in all the government programs and projects.
“At this rate, we can really achieve our revenue target and I am optimistic that we would even surpass this. With our hard work and cooperation to achieve our goal, we can do this,” said Mendoza.
As he expressed gratitude to the LTO personnel, Mendoza said their hard work is also being recognized through programs that would boost the morale of the ran and file.
A number of LTO employees, who spent years as job order personnel, were already given permanent positions and Mendoza said efforts are underway to provide job security to more LTO contractual employees.
