In a radio program hosted by broadcaster John Kevin Pilapil over Ormoc City-based dyRG on Saturday, April 5, Dr. Georgina Arevalo presented a Commission on Elections (Comelec) voter’s certification and death certificate belonging to a citizen from Barangay Tinabilan.
Documents showed the resident died on Aug. 29, 2014.
In the voter’s certificate, which was issued on March 28, 2025, that person's alleged voting record indicated that he voted on Oct. 23, 2017 or three years after his demise.
Palompon residents have expressed concern regarding the 1,089 dead citizens whose names are still allegedly in the list of active voters of Palompon.
Arevalo’s presentation of the documents came after some barangays officially brought their concerns to the Comelec-Region 8 office in Tacloban City.
Last March 3, 43 barangays requested the Comelec-Region 8 to cancel the 1,021 dead voters whose names are still allegedly in the voter’s list.
