The book, especially its child protagonist, Migoy, was inspired by the image, personality, and childhood stories of Chef Miggy Cabel Moreno, co-founder and chef of Palm Grill and an advocate for Mindanaoan cuisine. The story captures and illustrates the nuances, warmth, and lively spirit of a young Miggy, creating a relatable and endearing character for children.
