Ajinomoto Philippines Corp. (APC) on Friday, April 4, took another monumental move towards proving its commitment to sustainability with the unveiling of the 100 percent Renewable Energy Badge for its Ajinomoto Philippines Flavor Food Factory Inc. (APF) Cebu factory in Lapu-Lapu City,

The full transition of all APC factories in the Philippines to 100 percent renewable energy reinforces APC’s efforts to their 2030 Roadmap, putting at the forefront environmental protection and making the world more liveable for the future generations.

APF Cebu factory, APC executives, and partners from ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions were on hand to witness the ceremonial badge handover and a factory viewing experience.

“Looking ahead, we aspire to further strengthen this mutually beneficial partnership with ACEN. Together, we have demonstrated that sustainability is not just an aspiration — it is a tangible reality. And together, I am confident that we will continue to make meaningful strides in reducing carbon emissions and fostering a healthier planet for future generations,” said Koichi Ozaki, President of APC.

APC is targeting to reduce its carbon footprint and emissions annually.

Last year, APF-Bulacan fully transitioned to 100 percent renewable energy, and this contributes to avoiding approximately 6,500 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually.

The APF-Bulacan facility also features a one megawatt solar rooftop array through a partnership with MSpectrum, a subsidiary of the Manila Electric Co.

A collaboration forged with a united aim that goes beyond environmental impact, APC and ACEN believe that through this partnership, sustainability goals are not only achieved, but also finds ways to optimize energy consumption costs.

“This milestone reflects APC’s purpose of ‘Eat Well, Live Well’ not just for today, but for future generations,” Ozaki added.

To cap the unveiling, a ceremonial badge handover led by APC and ACEN executives was held followed by an exclusive factory viewing showcasing APF-Cebu’s renewable energy-powered operations.

From pioneering healthier food solutions to taking action to realizing renewable energy among local manufactures, APC has been unwavering in living up to its purpose of “Eat Well, Live Well’ even beyond humble kitchens.

The successful transition of both APC factories in the Philippines transcends through more than milestones, but also bold statements that make sustainability a reality.

As the company looks into the future, this feat empowers the APC community to continue to innovate and care for communities, building a healthier, greener, and more sustainable future for all Filipinos.
