In a chance interview with the media in Carcar, Cebu recently, the official said she believes she’s on the list of persons to be arrested on the basis of an arrest warrant from the ICC.
“Oo. Nasa listahan ako. Marami. Marami kami na nasa listahan ng ICC (Yes. I’m on the list. There’s a lot. There’s a lot of us on the ICC list),” she told reporters.
It dawned on her that her name’s on the list because of the way she was treated when she was in The Hague, Netherlands.
At first, the Vice President recalled that she was allowed to visit her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, every day.
“Hininto nila, pagkatapos, nirerecord na ang mga pinag-u-usapan namin ni [dating] pangulong Duterte. So, naiintindihan namin na nakikinig sila sa aming usapan (They stopped [allowing me to visit], then they were recording my conversations with [former] president Duterte. So, we understood then that they are listening to our conversations),” the official added.
While her name is on the list, the Vice President said that other top government officials—Dela Rosa, Go, former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Oscar Albayalde, and police generals Vicente Danao and Romeo Caramat Jr.—during her father’s administration would be arrested before her.
“Hindi lang ako, malayo pa ang pangalan ko doon. Mauna muna sila, bago ako (Not only me, my name is far down the list. They will be arrested first before me),” she said.
The ICC currently has custody of her father after the former president was arrested on March 11 and turned over to the ICC in The Hague.
