President Marcos said the deadly incident during a Filipino festival in Vancouver, Canada was "totally unexplainable" and cannot even be categorized as a terrorist concern.

"It was stunning. I could not quite believe what happened. It's totally unexplainable. It could not even be categorized as a terrorist concern," Marcos said on Wednesday, April 30.
The President made the statement during a bilateral meeting with New Zealand Defense Minister Judith Collins at the Malacañan Palace.
Collins expressed sympathy over the incident that took place during the Lapu Lapu festival, which took at least 11 lives.
"I would like to acknowledge the tragedy in Vancouver, Canada. It’s a terrible tragedy in Vancouver, Canada that affected some Filipino citizens and it's a terrible tragedy when things like that happen and I know that the whole community of the Philippines will be feeling for those families that have been so badly affected," Collins said.Â
Marcos thanked Collins for mentioning the tragic incident, saying there is no way to explain what happened in any logical way.Â
"Apparently the perpetrator was just mentally disturbed. It wasn't particularly against Filipinos. I don't know well... There's no way to explain it in any kind of logical ways. So thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our casualties," he said.
