
A fire broke out early Wednesday morning, April 30, at a warehouse in Barangay 586, Sampaloc, Manila, with authorities suspecting the blaze may have been started by an intruder.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire was reported at 1:47 a.m. and escalated to the second alarm by 1:56 a.m.
Firefighters responded to the two-story warehouse, which was primarily used to store plastic materials.
A security guard on duty told authorities he witnessed an unidentified man breaking into the facility shortly before the fire ignited.
Fire crews were able to fully extinguish the blaze by 5:28 a.m.
An investigation is underway to confirm the cause of the fire and determine the extent of damages.
