On Wednesday, April 30, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, former governor Rafael Coscolluela, and Bacolod City Councilor Celia Flor also endorsed Pangilinan during separate courtesy calls in the province.
Pangilinan recalled that Negros Occidental was among the first beneficiaries of the Sagip Saka Program when it was still an advocacy program of his office and was yet to become law.
Aquino, on the other hand, was endorsed by Nueva Ecija Gov. Oyie Umali and other local officials, such as Palayan City Mayor Vianne Cuevas and San Jose Mayor Mario Salvador.
During Aquino’s and Umali’s meeting, they discussed the benefits of the former senator’s Free College Law and the need to expand the budget so more students can benefit from it.

For his part, the former senator also underscored the importance of supporting farmers in Nueva Ecija, known as the “Rice Granary of the Philippines.”
“Dapat mabigyan ng sapat na tulong ang ating mga magsasaka bilang pagkilala sa mahalaga nilang papel sa seguridad sa pagkain sa ating bansa (The farmers need sufficient support as recognition for their role in the country’s food security),” Aquino added.
He was also endorsed by the Bangsamoro Party, the political party of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), as announced by Bangsamoro Labor Minister and Bangsamoro Party leader Muslimin Sema.
With over 500,000 documented members of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the Bangsamoro Party’s endorsement was widely welcomed by the former senator, who thanked the party for their support and trust.
“Magkasama tayo sa ating adbokasiya na paunlarin ang Mindanao sa tamang paggamit ng pondo pamamagitan ng paglalaan ng sapat na pondo sa edukasyon, kalusugan, kabuhayan, at imprastruktura (We are together in our advocacy to develop Mindanao by using funds properly and allocation enough funds for education, health, livelihood, and infrastructure),” Aquino said.
He also assured that by legislating laws, he will support Muslim Mindanao’s autonomy if he wins a Senate seat next month.
Carmona Mayor Dahlia Loyola, General Trias City Mayor Jon Ferrer, and Imus City Mayor Alex Advincula also endorsed Aquino during his visit to vote-rich Cavite province on Wednesday.
