Sen. Binay slams brother-in-law over campaign materials found inside Makati barangay hall

Senator and Makati City mayoral aspirant Nancy Binay slammed her brother-in-law, Makati solon and her contender in the mayoralty race, Luis Campos, after allegedly finding his campaign materials inside a barangay hall in Barangay Pinagkaisahan, Makati City.
In her Facebook video, Binay, the sister of incumbent Mayor Abby Binay, the wife of Campos, pointed out the discovery of several posters of Campos inside the barangay hall saying that this violates election rules on the use of government property for partisan purposes. The video has already reached the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and has referred the case to its Committee on Kontra Bigay.
"Pasensyahan tayo kung may kakasuhan kami dahil sa mali, sorry na lang (I'm sorry if we will file charges against people for this violation)," Binay said to the barangay personnel in her video.
In his statement, Campos clapped back against his sister-in-law saying that the election paraphernalia were just folded and stacked on a table for residents who may want to display them in their homes.
First of all, the campaign materials were not attached to any part of the barangay hall. They were folded and neatly stacked on a table so that any resident who wanted to attach them to their house could take them. It is evident in the video that the candidate's staff had to carefully tear open the folded tarpaulin to see what was placed on it because it was not exposed)," Campos said.
"Ikalawa, nilinaw mismo ng Civil Service Commission sa inilabas nitong Memorandum Circular No. 4, s. 2025 na may petsang April 4, 2025 na hindi kasama ang mga halal na barangay officials and Sangguniang Kabataan officials sa pinagbabawalang makibahagi sa anumang partisan political activities (Second, the Civil Service Commission itself clarified in its Memorandum Circular No. 4, s. 2025 dated April 4, 2025 that elected barangay officials and Sangguniang Kabataan officials are not included in the prohibition against participating in any partisan political activities)," he explained, adding that incumbent barangay and SK officers have the freedom to choose and support their chosen candidates.
