Motorcycle rider dies after being run over by van in QC

A motorcycle rider died after being run over by a closed van along K-H Street corner K-7th Street in Barangay East Kamias, Quezon City, on Monday, April 28.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Darcy Giles Lubag Corro, a resident of Agno Extension, Barangay Tatalon. The van driver was identified as Ed Christopher Talisay Runas, also 25, and a resident of Barangay East Kamias.

According to the police report, the incident happened around 4:07 p.m. Both vehicles were traveling along K-H Street from Cambridge Street toward Maliksi Street when Corro’s motorcycle struck the front right side of the van.

The impact caused Corro to fall onto the pavement, where he was run over by the van.

He was rushed to East Avenue Medical Center but was declared dead at 6:06 p.m.


Runas surrendered to the authorities at around 7 p.m., on Monday.

The suspect will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property, police said.
