DOJ asks VP Duterte to appear on May 9 on charges of inciting to sedition, grave threats
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has set for preliminary investigation the inciting to sedition and grave threats filed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against Vice President Sara Duterte.

The Vice President was charged for the reported threats she made against President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez in November, 2024.
DOJ Prosecutor General Richard Anthony D. Fadullon confirmed on Wednesday, April 30, that the panel of prosecutors has issued a subpoena to Duterte to appear on May 9 and 16.
In a press conference last November, Duterte said that, in the event she dies, she has already instructed someone to kill the President, the first lady, and Romualdez.
She was also reported to have said that her statement was not a joke.
The NBI conducted a probe that led to the filing of the charges before the DOJ.
