PDEA: Over P8.5-M worth of high grade marijuana seized at NAIA

Government anti-narcotics agents seized on Wednesday, April 2, a total of 8,554,500 worth of suspected dried marijuana kush at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during an interdiction operation.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) discovered the abandoned parcels at around 2:30 p.m. containing about 5,703 grams of suspected “marijuana kush.’’
The abandoned parcels were declared as Rice TH, pillows, dried fruits, tea, and toys, according to the PDEA.
The shipper and receiver face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165. The confiscated items were submitted to PDEA Laboratory Service for laboratory examination.
