KIBUNGAN, Benguet – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police destroyed 90,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P18 million in an eradication operation in Kibungan, Benguet from April 1 to 2.

Authorities discovered marijuana planted in two lots with a total land area of 9,000-square meters in Sitio Loccok, Barangay Badeo.
The PDEA said 50,000 marijuana plants valued at P10 million were found in the first lot and 40,000 worth P8 million in the second lot.
These were burned outright and PDEA is conducting an investigation to identify their cultivators.
Police assured that marijuana eradication operations are ongoing in the Cordillera region.
Couple nabbed in buy-bust
BAGUIO CITY – The PDEA arrested a couple in a buy-bust operation at Burnham Park here on April 1.
PDEA-Cordillera Regional Director Derrick Arnold C. Carreon said the suspects were a 40-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman from Dasmariñas City, Cavite.
Carreon said the suspects were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.
A total of 50 grams of shabu valued at P340,000 were recovered from the suspects who face drug-related charges.
