Man arrested after sexually assaulting teen in Tondo

A man was arrested for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Tondo, Manila.

The Manila Police District identified the 25-year-old suspect as "Michael," a resident of Tondo.

According to the police report, the victim was sleeping inside her bedroom when she saw the suspect moving toward her.

She said he felt the suspect touching her thigh and genitals.

Police said the victim feared for her life, pretended to sleep, and subtly shifted her position to distract her attacker.

With the help of her father, she quickly sought assistance from the barangay officials of Barangay 225, leading to the prompt arrest of the suspect.

Barangay officials turned the suspect over to the Women’s and Children’s Protection Section of the Manila Police District for further investigation.

The arrested suspect will be charged with violation of Section 5 of Republic Act 7610 (Anti-Child Abuse Law) before the City of Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
